Check who manages the road
Loading and parking rules vary. On a borough-managed street, check with the relevant council. On a red route, refer to Transport for London’s loading guidance.
Do not assume that hazard lights, a moving van or an open boot create permission to stop. Read the signs and check whether you need advance permission or a suspension. Let DNE know what has been arranged and where the vehicle will be allowed to stand.
Ask the building manager early
For flats and offices, confirm any move-in slot, goods-lift booking or protection required in communal areas. Give us the lift’s usable dimensions, not just its passenger capacity. A long corridor or a tight turn outside the lift can affect the handling plan.
Share the access rules before booking. If a concierge must be present or vehicle entry is controlled, identify who will be there at the agreed time.
Make the inventory fit the property
List large furniture and measure anything that may not fit through a narrow entrance. Include boxed items, bicycles and belongings stored away from the main rooms. Tell us if the load is split across more than one address.
